The quintessential sports game food and happy hour appetizer, Buffalo wings are a crowd-pleasing dish. Typically fried in seed oils and slathered with sugary, corn-syrup-laden sauces, they’re not so pleasing to the Paleo and keto crowds. Make a few Primal tweaks, though, and wings can become a Sunday afternoon staple in your home.

Our version of Buffalo wings starts with a Paleo-friendly baking powder made with baking soda, cream of tartar, and arrowroot flour to give them their signature crispy skin. These wings are also oven-baked rather than deep-fried, resulting in golden drummies and flats without the greasy feel.

We gave our baked wings a family-friendly touch by using our Primal Kitchen Mild & Sweet Buffalo Sauce made with avocado oil and mango puree, but you can also sub in our Original or Hot varieties if you prefer your chicken with more of a bold, peppery kick. All three sauces are free from dairy, canola, cane sugar, and corn syrup, so you can feel good about serving them to your family or your guests.
