Baked in the oven and covered in Primal Kitchen Mild & Sweet Buffalo Sauce, these delectable chicken wings will surely become a family favorite. Pair them with our creamy no-dairy Ranch Dip for a cool finish.
Ingredients
-
Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Spray
- 12 chicken wings or drumsticks
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
- ½ Tablespoon baking soda
- ½ Tablespoon arrowroot flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
-
1 bottle Primal Kitchen Mild & Sweet Buffalo Sauce
- 2 green onions, diced, for garnish
-
Primal Kitchen Ranch Dip, optional
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the wings down with a paper towel and set them aside to dry.
To make a Paleo baking powder, combine cream of tartar, baking soda, and arrowroot flour in a small bowl and mix well to combine.
Pour the Paleo baking powder into a large bowl. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Toss the dried wings in the seasoning mix until they are evenly coated.
Place wings in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake at 425°F for 35 mins. In the meantime, pour 3/4 of the Mild Buffalo Sauce into a clean bowl.
Remove wings from the oven and, using tongs, toss them in the Buffalo Sauce until well-coated. Increase oven temperature to 450°F.
Place the wings back on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes more, until crispy.
Drizzle with additional Buffalo Sauce, sprinkle with green onions, and serve with Primal Kitchen Ranch Dip, if desired. Enjoy!

The quintessential sports game food and happy hour appetizer, Buffalo wings are a crowd-pleasing dish. Typically fried in seed oils and slathered with sugary, corn-syrup-laden sauces, they’re not so pleasing to the Paleo and keto crowds. Make a few Primal tweaks, though, and wings can become a Sunday afternoon staple in your home.
Our version of Buffalo wings starts with a Paleo-friendly baking powder made with baking soda, cream of tartar, and arrowroot flour to give them their signature crispy skin. These wings are also oven-baked rather than deep-fried, resulting in golden drummies and flats without the greasy feel.
We gave our baked wings a family-friendly touch by using our Primal Kitchen Mild & Sweet Buffalo Sauce made with avocado oil and mango puree, but you can also sub in our Original or Hot varieties if you prefer your chicken with more of a bold, peppery kick. All three sauces are free from dairy, canola, cane sugar, and corn syrup, so you can feel good about serving them to your family or your guests.
