A salty take on the classic pigs-in-blankets recipe, these easy 5-ingredient air fryer pretzel dogs are ready in 10 minutes or less. Not just for nuggets, the lightly sweet and smoky ancho flavor of our Chicken Dippin’ Sauce is the perfect dunk for this iconic dish.

Ingredients
- 6 all-beef hot dogs
- 9 oz cheddar cheese, cut into strips
1 sheet of premade dough
- 1-2 egg whites
- Course salt, to taste
-
Primal Kitchen Air Fryer Spray Oil
-
Primal Kitchen Chicken Dippin’ Sauce, for serving
Directions
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
Make a small slit down the middle of each hot dog and insert a piece of cheddar cheese, about 1.5 oz.
Roll out the dough into 6 equal pieces and wrap each cheese-filled hot dog, sealing the edges to ensure the dough stays in place.
- Lightly brush each wrapped pretzel dog with egg whites.
- Sprinkle salt over the dough and spray the wrapped dogs with Primal Kitchen Air Fryer Spray for extra flavor.
- Place the pretzel dogs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. Cook for 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the air fryer and serve with Primal Kitchen Chicken Dippin’ Sauce. Enjoy!

Craving comfort food? Don’t get salty. These mouthwatering pretzel dogs will be on your plate in about 10 minutes. Sometimes called pigs in a blanket, these dough-wrapped hot dogs are an iconic appetizer that combines the best of two ballpark faves. Add a sprinkle of course kosher salt and you have pretzel dogs — crowd-pleasing snacks that marry the pillowy softness of crescent roll dough with the meatiness of an all-beef frank.
We used a gluten-free crescent roll dough to make this pigs-in-blankets recipe, but you can use any premade dough that wraps easily. Spray it lightly with our Air Fryer Oil to add subtle notes of black pepper, onion, and garlic that amp up the bread coating. Then air-fry your dogs in minutes and dunk to your heart's content!
