Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
-
2 tablespoons Primal Kitchen Pure Avocado Oil, divided
- 1 tablespoon rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon thyme leaves
-
2 tablespoons Primal Kitchen Dijon Mustard
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 small apples, cored and chopped
Directions
Chop the apples into ½-inch pieces (about 2 cups).
- Season the pork chops with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper on both sides.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil in a large pot or raised pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned. Once browned, remove the pork chops from the pan and set them aside on a plate.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of avocado oil. Reduce the heat to medium and add the rosemary, thyme, and Dijon mustard, stirring for 30 seconds to release their flavors.
- Slowly pour in the chicken broth, stirring well to mix and to lift any browned bits off the bottom of the pan.
- Add the chopped apples to the pan and bring everything to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Return the pork chops to the pan, nestling them into the sauce and apples. Let everything simmer together for an additional 5 minutes, or until the pork chops are fully cooked (the internal temperature should reach 145°F).
- Serve the pork chops with the apple and herb sauce spooned over top.

Some things just go together. Peanut butter and jelly. Fries and ketchup. You and Primal Kitchen. Such is the case for pork and apples, whether it’s a gourmet charcuterie plate with bacon and sliced Fujis or the savory-meets-sweet bite of homestyle pork chops and applesauce.
Our elevated take on the latter is made with high-quality Duroc pork seared in premium Pure Avocado Oil, a delicious source of good fats. Sweet and juicy apples mingle with chicken broth, herbs, and tangy mustard to form a spoonable sauce that adds vibrancy to the rich flavor of the chops.
Because of their sturdy texture and sweet flavor, Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious apples work especially well for this recipe. Swap one out with a Granny Smith for a stronger apple flavor with a hint of tartness. Serve this hearty, satisfying dish with a side of steamed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, or a massaged kale salad.
