If you’re wondering how a simple cheese-wrapped pickle recipe went viral, we’ve got a few good reasons to share. First, this chickle how-to is about as simple as a recipe can get: two ingredients plus dipping sauce and you’re good to go. Also, they’re quick to make, coming together in just minutes with a little patience and skill (we’ll get to that part later). And finally, they’re the perfect game-day snack, combining the briny crunch of a fresh dill pickle with the salty, savory chew of melted cheese.
It’s a little tough to get the cheese to crisp up nicely without burning or breaking, but once you have a handle on it, you can whip up a batch of Pickles in a Blanket either in a single pan or assembly line style in no time. We opted for the creaminess of provolone, which also adds a slightly nutty flavor, but you can easily substitute other sliced cheeses like cheddar, American, Havarti, or mozzarella. Serve up a platter of chickles with Primal Kitchen Ranch for dipping and you'll never be in a pickle for a crowd-pleasing recipe again.
