Snack time or game time, this easy DIY guac recipe is a crowd-pleaser! Our homemade guacamole gets a boost of creamy flavor from our real mayonnaise, and the carb-heavy chips are replaced by savory, salty bacon that complements the avocado's earthy flavor.
Ingredients
- 12 strips of bacon
- 3 avocados
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
2 plum tomatoes, diced
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
-
1 tablespoon Primal Kitchen Mayo
Directions
For the guacamole:
Slice the avocados and scoop out the meat.
In a medium-sized bowl, mash the avocados together with the lime juice, salt, and Primal Kitchen Mayo.
Add the tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, and cayenne pepper, and mix well.
For the bacon chips:
Pull the bacon out from the fridge 15 minutes before cooking and allow it to reach room temperature.
Lay the bacon out in a skillet and cook over medium heat. Turn the strips as needed until you reach the desired crispness, about 8-10 minutes.
Drain the pieces on a baking sheet lined with paper towels, and allow the bacon to harden slightly.
Cut the bacon strips into chip-sized pieces and serve with the guacamole. Enjoy!

If you love guacamole but don't want to use traditional tortilla chips, this recipe will revolutionize your snacking, take your appetizer spread to new levels, and have your tastebuds jumping for joy. We made our guac extra creamy and flavorful with a dollop of Primal Kitchen Mayo and added a touch of cayenne for just the balance of savory and spicy, but you can customize the heat level for your taste.
Crunchy, salty, and filled with flavor, uncured bacon makes a delicious chip when crisped up in a heated skillet. The trick is to cook your bacon so it's just brown enough to start to develop a firm, crisp texture but not cook it so much that it becomes brittle. Whether you're getting ready for the Big Game, putting together a BBQ, or sitting down for a fun Friday night, this is an easy appetizer recipe you simply can't miss.
